چکیده
5-Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is one of the promising chemicals, which can serve as a platform chemical to produce various energy chemicals. HMF be produced from different lignocellulosic biomass derived sugars employing catalytic processes. In this study, synthesis was investigated excessively available sucrose using environment friendly and cost-effective technology. Among solvents applied, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) found an efficient organic solvent medium. The results elucidated combination p-toluenesulfonic acid (pTSA) chromium chloride (CrCl3.6H2O) best dehydrating catalyst. A relatively higher yield 55% achieved at lower temperature (120 ?) while 150 ? (higher temperature) oxalic with concentration CrCl3.6H2O gave maximum 59.21%. time, temperature, concentrations affected yields. positive impact rise in 100 120 pTSA until ?. yields were reported descending order > maleic malonic succinic blank It observed that isomerization glucose fructose major barrier achieve high process yield. Therefore, more efforts should made rate (part disaccharide) improve selectivity by depressing humin formation.

Efficient and selective conversion of sucrose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural promoted by ammonium halides under mild conditions.
The highly efficient and selective production of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) from sucrose has been achieved in the presence of metal chlorides and ammonium halides under mild conditions. Notably, an 87% yield of HMF from sucrose was obtained with a catalyst system composed of CrCl(3) and NH(4)Br at 100°C for 1.0 h in N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc) solvent. The effect of the reaction temperature...

Selective conversion of biomass-derived carbohydrates into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is of great significance for biomass conversion. In this study, a novel solid Brønsted acid was prepared simply by the copolymerization of paraformaldehyde and p-toluenesulfonic acid and then used to catalyze the conversion of various carbohydrates into HMF in γ-valerolactone-water (GVL/H2O) reaction medium...

Lignocellulosic biomass is a very promising feedstock for the production of biobased chemicals. The C6 sugars (for example d-glucose, d-fructose, and d-mannose) in lignocellulosic biomass are interesting precursors for a broad range of chemicals with high application potential. Apart from fermentation to bioethanol and reforming to CO/H2, [10] the direct conversion of these sugars to useful pla...
متن کاملCatalytic and Non-catalytic Conversion of Methane to C2 Hydrocarbons in a Low Temperature Plasma
The direct conversion of methane to C2 hydrocarbons, in a quartz tube reactor enforced by a DC corona discharge, was investigated at atmospheric pressure. The process was carried out in the presence of metal oxide catalysts of Mn/W/SiO2, Mn/W/SiO2 (tetraethyl orthosilicate, TEOS), and Mn/W/CNT (supported on carbon nanotubes). The total yield to C2 hydrocarbons in the presence of metal oxide cat...
